Dark Hearts Anthology

Who They Are: Ghost Orchid Press is an independent publisher based in Cambridge, UK, dedicated to championing the best in original fiction by fresh, new authors. We look for striking, inspiring stories that jump off the page. Our tastes tend towards gothic fiction and horror, but we’re open to submissions from all genres as long as they’re a good fit for one of our anthologies.

What They’re Looking For: Dark Hearts will be an anthology of stories exploring the twisted side of love. We’re looking for stories that jump off the page. Stories that chill, shock or disturb us. Stories that move us or make us laugh… grimly. Stories should be between 1,000-6,000 words.

What They Pay: $.01 per word.

Deadline: February 28.

Trenchcoats, Towers, and Trolls: Cyberpunk Fairy Tales

Who They Are: For this, the third installment of Punked Up Fairy Tales, we are excited to mash the world of cyberpunk together with fairy tales and see what sort of magic results. Embracing the high-tech/low-life aspect of cyberpunk will give these stories both the sleek coolness of futuristic technology and the grittiness of traditional fairy tales.

What They’re Looking For: Fairytales–original and retellings–with a cyberpunk flair, up to 7,500 words.

What They Pay: $0.01 per word + contributor copy.

Deadline: February 28.
