Exciting News on How to Find a Literary Agent

Many of you have probably wondered:

  • How do I get published?
  • What is this thing called publishing?
  • How do I find an agent?
  • Why is publishing so hard?

Answering these questions is something we do in the Writing Gym.

In the Publishing Mastermind, the second phase of the Writing Gym, we help you get your novel from drafted to published.

See the timeline of the Publishing Mastermind below:

  • Part One: How to know what’s publishing now?
    • Authors often ask “How do I know if my novel is publishable?” We show you how to evaluate the market and know if you’ve got a viable idea.
    •
  • Part Two: How to revise your novel to publishable
    • Learn how to evaluate which craft principles to focus on and which are already your strengths
    • Learn how to write to publishing industry standards.
    • Learn how to revise not just THIS novel–but all your future novels–to publishing industry standards
  • Part Two: How to pitch your novel effectively
    • How to draft an effective query
    • What are literary agents looking for in a synopsis?
    • Which literary agent that is right for the project

I meet with industry professionals on a regular basis to talk about manuscripts, what they’re looking for, and to get the edge for the writers in the Writing Gym–to get that “leg up.” Participants at the Writing Gym have the opportunity to have their work exposed to literary publishers and literary agents, to get feedback from publishing industry professionals, and to get info about the publishing industry direct from professionals in the field.

As part of this process, these authors often get requests for full manuscripts and full length responses from these agents. This is the power of these types of connections and programs in the Writing Gym.

If you’re ready to traditionally publish your novel, I’ve opened some time in my calendar to speak with writers like you about where you are, where you would like to go, and how you can get there. If you’re serious about living the author lifestyle and you’d like to hear more about how we help writers in the Writing Gym, you can drop yourself into my calendar here.
