How to plan a writing project
Do you feel overwhelmed when you sit down to write? Do you sit there and stare at the blank page, rather than write, because you don’t know where to start?
Here are some tips for getting a start on your writing, and getting it finished.
I watched this video a couple of weeks ago and since then I have started to plan my research piece. It helped when I created a deadline to get my first draft done and then my second, and now I’m working towards my final draft. Having a deadline has helped improve my writing because if I didn’t have one I would be waiting until the last minute and not showing what I’ve learned through the semester.
Thanks for your comment, Hailee. I am glad these tips could be helpful to you in the planning of your project.
I’m hardly organized at times, and this gives me good advice on how to take my work step by step and meet deadlines. I also think pacing is a good point in being successful and meeting goals on time.
Excellent points! I am glad you found these tips helpful.
My “end goal” was to have written a research paper, not a report. My first step was to find a clear thesis. Then to write down the other steps to effectively finish my paper. I have never planned an essay backwards but it really helped in writing this paper, making my deadline more attainable.
I am so glad that this planning backwards technique worked for you! 🙂
